I have seen lot of Desi folks living or settled in foreign countries complaining about INDIA being the most USELESS country in the world....i dont know how they can be so rude with their "own" country just like that.... to be honest its those people who can or rather should be making a CHANGE ...so the motive behind this blog is to collect small small ideas that can be implemented practically to make a BIG difference .....

I know you will say who cares for these ideas..even that question arrived in my mind too but then if everybody keeps on saying this doing nothing then whats the use? ..so my idea is just to make aware of some things to those people who are not aware of this and if they like it they will surely let it know to few people more..tats the simple funda behind this..

One thing am going to neglect in these articles is CORRUPTION..everybody knows Behind every unsuccessful project there is a corruption.. and there are some respectable persons fighting for it...

The last and most important thing is all your ideas and suggestions are most welcomed... as this blog wont be a sort of daily or weekly magazine i request you if you have something please share it ..

So lets make it Changed...

TIME is money , Dont waste it in Queue

(Reposting it again as earlier post got deleted somehow.  .)

Europe is well known for its transportation facilities..believe me its really fantastic. Be it Trains,Trams or Buses. You have so good network of it so that you can start your journey any time.
Not only tourists but local people also use this public transport very often. There are many things which are helping them to make use of it and one of it is Ticket Vending Machines.

We often see this picture at all Bus stations, Railway stations etc. without fail and we just hate it than anything else.

So what these people are doing here.

Apart from internet bookings which  is getting used in India quite often these days  here they use Ticket  Vending Machines. Its best thing to get rid of linessssssssssss.

Picture shows basic model  of such machines. Its simple mechanical machine... yes they have  advanced kind of models with space ball , touch screens and all but thought this suits us more.

Its very simple to use.. You can pay by Notes, Coins or Card.

The chart shows the code numbers for different cities.

Topmost  left button is to select your language

Below that two columns ..one is for adult and one is for kids. (Half ticket)
In these columns different buttons for One trip ticket, Return Ticket, Day ticket, State ticket, Group ticket etc etc.

Another two buttons up there to add number of commuters..
 Thats it... no complications....

It takes hardly 4-5 mins to get it even for a stranger....

Some of you will say that instead of this we can just  increase counters ..we have so much berojgaar public and all...but again.. counter means  10am (approx) to 5 pm (sharp) timings....   1 pm to 2 pm (depends) lunch time....  chutta  nahi kya??  500 ka chutta tera @#$ dega kya??  .. abe teri.. tu line me kab khada tha be....

I have heard that at some places in Mumbai we do have these kinda machines but since i hvnt seen or used them i thought  this should make its entry to the blog..

Floods in Pune....(Strange but True)

From last few years FLOOD is just normal thing in monsoon in Pune...but is it just because of heavy rains.. certainly not.. but because of  blocking the drainage pipe lines... Thanks to the  scrap material including plastics  directly going in to the pipelines and resulting in choke up..... So can we avoid these situation ??

of-course YES...

So what "advance" techniques these people are using here .....absolutely nothing.....its just simple method which makes huge change...

Lets see what this method is....

This is how it looks like.

Exactly the same DHAKKANS like we have.

In our case we just have this lid and below are the drainage lines so that all scrap can easily go into the pipelines...

here it is slightly different... here they have a Big Bucket with holes just below this lid. See attached image.

So basically all the scraps going into the drainage is getting filtered by this bucket and allowing only the sewage water along with things which wont choke up the lines to flow.. One more picture for better clarification...

After every one or two months cleaning  guys will come open up the lid and empty the buckets. Thats it !!!  Cleaning the bucket is very simple.. unfortunately missed to click photos of it..

It certainly doesn't need any extra cost.....
We may need to empty these buckets once  in a week in rainy season...

So if we don't want to see the picture below we need to do this small change....

Waste Management..

Lot has been written and spoken about this topic but we have never learnt its importance , still want to give a try...

Not everybody knows that in some areas of Pune we do follow method to separate out  Dry waste and Bio waste..(ओला कचरा आणि सुका कचरा ) atleast where i live... municipality workers collect the waste in different containers (upto here everything seems ekdum perfect ) but at the end when they empty out the containers in dumper ,they  "JUST DO IT".......(गयी भैस पानीमे)... so its not making any sense...

So what is being followed here?

Here they try to recycle as much as garbage as they can by segregating it .You can not throw the waste just like that or you will be fined....You have to separate the different kinds of waste. you have different containers for Papers, Plastic waste, Bio waste, Dry waste. For Glass.electric cells , cloths they have different containers.
Every house,Buildings, Apartments have these containers with fixed colour code like:

Blue Container : Paper waste
Yellow Container : Plastic material, Foils , cans
Brown Container : Biodegradable waste like leftover food

Black Container : This is for everything else that cannot be disposed of any other container.

They have specific days to collect specific garbage means they will collect Plastic garbage one day nothing else ,the other day they will collect only paper waste like that...(no question of getting mixed as i mentioned in very first para) You get a calender like this to know when garbage collectors will come to collect ...

They also have different containers for Glass and Cloths at some common locations which looks like this ...

So what we can do??
I am not expecting this method for common people at least at the start. But can be started from all housing societies , Buildings, Industries  where people knows the importance of recycling. so we wont need to put the banner like:

P.M.T. पुण्यातल्या traffic jam चे सगळ्यात महत्वाचे कारण

P.M.T ....Pune Muncipal Transport..no i am not going to write here about how old are they ( on an average 15 yrs old making it as the Pune's most polluting element), not about how CO-OPERATIVE  the bus drivers and conductors are, not about how frequently the buses are ON TIME...and even not about the luxurious conditions about the buses and Bus stops (Do they exist at all??)...here am going to focus on how we can avoid the traffic chaos causing by buses standing in the middle of the road and commuters trying to catch them in midst of  other vehicles.

Look at the picture....
In my opinion its the "BUS STOPS" and not the "BUSes" which are causing this situation.
Have you ever noticed  that whenever we drive in central city  areas we always just keep on looking ways to overtake BUS if its ahead of us.... why?? because all we know if you get struck behind BUS on any a busy road its gonna take hell lot of time unless that road ends or you prefer some other road.. because you just cant simply cross the BUS....(and its very irritating i know.."अडकलो यार" "लागली आता ". "तरी तुला सांगत होतो" "या बसच्या ना @#@#" .)
Let me explain you, Normally at every bus stop, bus stops for 15-20 seconds only but resulting to stop 50 more vehicles behind it... at each stop these number goes on increaing and increasing..and causing  T R A F F I C .
Just take an example of Laxmi Road...on an average 3 or 4 buses are passing by  on it at the same time  ... and you can imagine how serious is this..

So what they do it here....meaning of BUS STOP for them to be precisely is   "Additional" space to stop the bus.
At every Bus stop they have given some additional space just outside the road. so whenever bus  takes stop it will not stand in the middle of the road blocking all other vehicles . See the picture below , it explains all..

I have seen these kind of bus stops almost everywhere...  in some cases its extra lane for buses where its going to stop..(m not at all expecting this in city like pune where you dont have space for walking even)..

So question is can we do it also...???   Can we make this EXTRA space on roads like laxmi road??

i dont have have answers to these but just one thought in mind..अतिक्रमणाच्या नावाखाली धार्मिक वास्तु हलवता येतात ना तुम्हाला मग हे का नाही जमणार ??

Plastic Bottels.. Biggest Challenge to deal with...

We often get to see this picture every where in Pune City. Plastic Plastic Plastic.. everywhere.... Recently PMC has banned the plastic bags below 50 microns and i hope the shopkeepers are still following the rule...good effort indeed... but its not only the plastic bags, what about the plastic bottles????
We often throw the bottles here and there...why because its of no use... but if we get money out it then ???? yes thats the simple solution which makes nearly impossible to get a single plastic bottle even in dustbins here.....

Lets see whats the system being followed here..
Almost all Plastic bottle here can be recycled and have a symbol as shown.

Empty bottles with this symbol can be returned back to get 0.25 Euro/2 SEK.This amount is already added in the cost of the bottle. So its like a deposit amount (known as Pfand) which you have already paid. Almost all supermarkets have the machines installed as shown where you can go and deposit the empty bottles to get a cash voucher which can be used at the store or can be exchanged for cash.

Typically the machine is like:

What we can do?
We can have the same system in which 5/- rupees will be charged as a deposit in its original prise and which will be refunded. This automatic machines can be installed in all big shops or in corporation offices. We can also have option of manual collecting of these empty bottles at small shops. This refund amount will differ for 0.5 Ltr, 1 Ltr, 1.5 Ltr.

with this thing nobody will like to throw bottle just like that.... and even if they, there will be many waiting to pick it up.....(WHAT AN IDEA SIRJI!!!)
